ABOUT

          John Dillon is an aspiring public relations practitioner based out of Atlanta and Athens, Georgia, most interested in public affairs, government relations and non-governmental organizations. He is currently a student at the University of Georgia with a major in PR, a minor in cognitive science and a certificate in public affairs. Dillon has taken courses in PR, journalistic writing and graphic design, which have granted him experience in press releases, social media management, AP style, Adobe Creative Cloud and photography. Showcased are some of his hard news pieces, food photography (displaying his own burgeoning skills in the kitchen) and work created with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

          His passion for learning and improvement extends beyond mass communications, however. His cognitive science courses, from linguistics to psychology to philosophy, have honed his more intangible skills of critical thinking, ethics and academic writing. Dillon’s experience in presentations and public speaking has moreover served him in and outside the classroom. He is an active member of the UGA Honors College and has received the UGA Presidential Scholar Award three times for academic excellence. He is deeply devoted to community involvement and is an Eagle Scout.
